Order routing

Every order ships from the warehouse that makes sense.

GVANSH scores each order against real stock, distance and shipping cost, then routes it to the location that fulfils it fastest and cheapest, in one shipment wherever possible.

How warehouse selection is computed

For every incoming order, GVANSH looks at which locations can actually fulfil it and scores them together on three axes:

  • Stock availability: can this location cover the full order without splitting it?
  • Proximity: how close is it to the delivery address, and what transit time does that imply?
  • Shipping cost: what will it actually cost to send from there?

The location with the best combined score wins the order. When one warehouse can ship everything, it does, which is how split shipments quietly disappear.

A before and after

An order for three items lands from a customer near the east coast. Default behaviour pulls two items from the west warehouse and one from central, creating two parcels and two shipping charges. GVANSH sees that the east warehouse holds all three, routes the whole order there, and the customer gets one box, sooner.

Closer locations mean shorter transit, which customers feel and reviews reflect.
